Conductor and composer • Classical
Eladio Aguilar.
Eladio Aguilar is a conductor and composer from San Sebastián de La Gomera, now based in Tallinn. His music began at ten, singing in his school choir, and grew through the trumpet: he played with the municipal band and took a professional degree in trumpet at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Tenerife.
In Tallinn he completed a bachelor’s degree in composition at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Toivo Tulev and René Eespere, followed by a master’s in orchestral conducting with Paul Mägi. He studied privately with Miguel Romea in Madrid, and in masterclasses with Arvo Volmer, Olari Elts, Risto Joost and Toomas Kapten. In 2025 and 2026 he was selected by video audition for the MROCI international conducting course in Vratsa, Bulgaria, conducting the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra.
In 2021 he founded a chamber orchestra in the Canary Islands, first known as Mons Igneus and now the Borondonya Chamber Orchestra, which he leads as chief conductor and artistic director. He was chief conductor of the Tallinn International Youth Orchestra from 2022 to 2025, and in 2026 founded the Revelia Youth Orchestra.
He has assisted Juanjo Mena with the Oslo Philharmonic in 2022, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra in 2023, and Paavo Järvi, Neeme Järvi and Olari Elts at the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. With the Spanish Embassy in Estonia he has conducted de Falla at the Iberofest festival and opened the España Negra y Blanca exhibition at the Kadriorg Art Museum.
